                                  Alice, Where Are You Going?
                                  c/p 2009 Betsy Rosenberg & Rahel (Ann R. Silverman-Limor)

Alice, Where Are You Going? (Traditional)
Alice, where are you going? Upstairs to take a bath.
Alice, with legs like toothepicks, and a neck like a giraffe
Alice, got in the bathtub, pulled out the plug and then
Oh my goodness, bless my soul! There goes Alice down the hole!
Alice, where are you going? Glub, glub, gurgle!

Heartfoam (Sir William Schwenk Gilbert 1836-1911)
Oh to be wafted away from this black acceldama of sorrow
Where the dust of an earthly today is the earth of a dusty tomorrow

The Three Bears (Bobby Troup, Londontown Music/ASCAP 1946)
Once upon a time in a wee little forest there were three bears.
One was a papa bear, and one was a mama bear and one was a wee bear.
Now one day as they were walkin’ through the deep woods and talkin’
Came a little girl with blonde hair
Her name was Goldilocks and upon the door she knocks but no-one was there.
So she walked right in and she had herself a ball – she didn’t care!
When home, home, home came the three bears…
“Someone’s been eating my porridge,” said the papa bear.
“Someone’s been eating my porridge,” said the mama bear.
Then “babareebear,” said the little wee bear.
“Someone has broken my chair!” – CRASH!
Just then Goldilocks woke up, broke up the party, beat it out of there.
“Bye, bye, bye,” said the papa bear.
“Good-bye, bye,” said the mama bear.
Then “babareebear,” said the little wee bear.
So ends the story of the three bears.

Chinese Honeymoon (Adapted from Shanghai Honeymoon by Shockley-Hausman-Melrose 1926)
On our Chinese honeymoon in the merry month of June.
Just you and I together, where the honeysuckle bloom.
We’ll buy a toy balloon and sail up to the moon.
In the land of tea and roses, on our Chinese honeymoon.

The Ball Game (words by Jack Norworth 1908; Music by Albert von Tilzer)
Take me out to the ball game. Take me out to the crowd.
Buy me some peanuts and crackerjacks.
I don’t care if I never get back so it’s root, root, root for the home team.
If they don’t win it’s a shame. For it’s 1-2-3 strikes your out,
                                  At the old ball game
Take me out to the ball game take me out
To the crowd buy me some

If I never get back so it’s root, root, root for
The home team if they don’t
                                  Win it’s a shame for it’s one
                                  Two, three strikes you’re out
                                  At the old ball game…

                                  Infant Joy (William Blake 1757-1827)
I have no name; I am but one day old. “What shall I call thee?”
I happy am, Joy is my name. “Sweet Joy befall thee.”
Pretty Joy; sweet Joy but two days old. Sweet Joy I call thee.
Thou doest smile; I sing the while. Sweet Joy befall thee.

My Pretty Maid (Traditional Nursery Rhyme)
Where are you going to my pretty maid? Where are you going to my pretty maid?
“I’m going a milking, sir”, she said, “Sir,” she said, “Sir,” she said, “I’m going a milking, sir,” she said.
May I come with you my pretty maid? May I come with you my pretty maid?
“Yes, if you please, kind sir,” she said, “Sir,” she said, “Sir,” she said, “Yes, if you please, kind sir,” she said.
What is your fortune my pretty maid? What is your fortune my pretty maid?
“My fate is my fortune, sir,” she said, “Sir,” she said, “Sir,” she said, “My fate is my fortune, sir,” she said.
Then I can’t marry you my pretty maid. Then I can’t marry you my pretty maid.
“Nobody asked you, sir,” she said, “Sir,” she said, “Sir,” she said, “Nobody asked you, sir,” she said.

Windy Nights (Robert Louis Stevenson 1850-1894)
Whenever the moon and stars are set. Whenever the wind is high.
All night long in the dark and wet a man comes riding by
Late in the night when the fires are out, why does he gallop and gallop about
Whenever the trees are crying aloud and ships are tossed at sea
By on the highway low and loud, by at the gallop goes he
By at the gallop he goes and then, by he comes back at the gallop again

Pack She Back (Jamaican Folk Song)
Pack she back to she ma, oh I pack she back to she ma
Such a lazy girl like Jessie Malone, I pack she back to she ma
A pretty little girl like Jessie Malone she lazy since she born
The girl wouldn’t cook she wouldn’t read a book so I pack she back to she ma

Mr. Cowboy Cloud – riding in the blue

Where do you ride – when the day is through
                                  ?
Where do you ride – when you disappear?
Are you somewhere else – or really here? CHORUS
Do you know it’s me – lying on the ground?
Do you go to sleep  - when the sun goes down?
Will you come again – so we can play?
Yippie – tie – yi – yo – yippie tie- yi – yay! CHORUS

My bear was very angry and he wouldn’t go to bed
I offered him some honey but he only shook his head
I told him I didn’t mean all the hurtful things I said
And I told him I was sorry for all the tears he shed
I didn’t mean to let you down, my bear
Didn’t mean to make you frown, my bear
You know that we will never part
I love you bear – with all my heart
